There are no machines taking over the intricate, time-honoured work. Every crystal is placed by a skilled hand, embellishments are carefully applied, and costumes are shaped, fashioned and finished using techniques that belong to the great tradition of the theatrical workrooms.

It is a wonderfully old-fashioned way of making things, and that is precisely the point.
